"Still Picture You" from Otto is an 80's dream

You’re in the car, sitting at a red light, and the punchy 80’s guitar riff from Otto’s “When I Really Saw You” comes through the stereo. You turn it up, dance in your seat, and sing along in the rearview mirror. It’s the final movie montage and you are the star of the whole thing.

The just-released debut EP from Detroit indie pop band Otto is here. And whew, it is bop after bop. Still Picture You is the culmination of multiple virtual writing calls and a 2021 full-band studio session in Nashville. The lead single “Good Fight” stands out as a huge radio moment for one of Detroit’s best up and coming acts, while “If You Know” takes a beat from the rest of the high-energy EP for a synth-led song about moving on.

On “If You Know" vocalist Chesney Walters says:

We’re messing up and breaking down

Picking fights to drown it out

I'm ready for it to be over

and it’s the perfect sentiment for the entire release. Otto has landed as a band to keep an eye on, and definitely a group that you’ll want to see live. So grab your keys, because you just might want to drive around with Still Picture You this weekend. Stream the EP and follow Otto online to keep up with all their new music!
